On March 3, 2009 Ollie Twist would release his third solo record "Twistology 2" as an internet exclusive. After recording under the alter-ego title of Nucleus, this serves as the first proper Ollie Twist solo album since The Word in 2003. This album was created at a newly established recording location dubbed "Twist Blade 2" - after a fire had destroyed the studio where this project had originated.
The tracks are a mix of songs that were retrieved from a salvaged computer hard drive at the previous location and newly written/recorded pieces at Twist Blade 2. Midway through the production long time affiliate Avatar became heavily involved in the project providing beats for 50 percent of the album. General Doobe served as the Executive Producer and also co-stars lyrically. Throughout the track listing we there are also appearances from Rhyme Skeme members Steve Nyce, EMC and Jiceman (now The Wickkid One) with Avatar contributing two verses as well. The intro to "Lionz Den" includes a drop from Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon.
The style of Twistology 2 was meant to be in opposition to the original in tone and content, making it graphic and more brutal in attitude. Its explicit nature in anger, politics and conspiracy is reflected in the menacing beats and aggressive vocal tracks. The songs are heavily littered with sampling and sound effects making the listen more interactive sonically than the original with more focus on a linear concept. Overall, it is perhaps the most developed solo album from Ollie Twist to date and also his personal favorite.
