The Word serves as the second solo album from Ollie Twist - compiled of out take tracks from Twistology combined with new solo tracks completed during this time period. The Word was hand made and thus released on a very small scale limited to only 300 copies. All the recordings took place at Twist Blade Studios in Vernon, Connecticut on a digital 8-track recorder.
The only guest artist on the album is Kastro, later changing his name to Tommy Marin, on 2 tracks. Although it can be argued that The Word is merely a B-Side album to Twistology the tracks are no less composed than that of it's predecessor and covers new grounds thematically. Twist felt the final product was large enough and fresh enough to be considered his official sophomore effort.
The tracks showcase a familiar formula from Ollie Twist lyrically, this time around boosting up the political and spiritual departments a couple of notches. The Word does not feature any guest producers and was completed and released in December of 2003.
All tracks written, produced and recorded by Ollie Twist at Twist Blade Studios 2003 Kastro appears courtesy of Rhyme Skeme Productions on "The Final Step" & "Storm & Prophecy"
